Ukraine as part of a new security architecture in Europe

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je věnována pozici Ukrajiny v bezpečnostní architektuře Evropy. Cílem práce bylo zjistit postavení Ukrajiny v novém evropském bezpečnostním systému v tuto chvíli a najít nejvýhodnější pozici, k níž Ukrajina by se měla obrátit pro zajištění bezpečnosti a suverenity zemi. Na začátku se charakterizuje moderní bezpečnostní architektura Evropy pro pochopení, v jakém prostředí se nachází Ukrajina, a k jakému postavení a jak míří. V průběhu práce je definováno, že momentální bezpečnostní pozice uchazeče o členství v NATO není pro bezpečnost Ukrajiny přínosem. Jako alternativní způsob vedení zahraniční politiky je nabídnuta strategie neutrální země jako součásti Nové východoevropské bezpečnostní architektury.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is devoted to the position of Ukraine in the security architecture of Europe. The aim of the work was to find out the position of Ukraine in the new European security system at the moment and to come up with the best position to which Ukraine should turn to ensure the country's security and sovereignty. In the beginning, the modern security architecture of Europe is characterized to understand the environment in which Ukraine is located, and to what position and how it is heading. In the course of the work it is defined that the current security position of the candidate for NATO membership is not beneficial for Ukraine's security. As an alternative way of conducting foreign policy, a neutral country strategy is offered as part of the New Eastern European Security Architecture.
