Interpretation of atypical burials from the turn of the 8th and 9th century to the 12th century in Bohemia, Moravia and south-western Slovakia.

Abstract:

Práce zpracovává interpretace netypických pohřbů na území dnešních Čech, Moravy a jihozápadního Slovenska od přelomu 8. a 9. století do 12. století. Konkrétně se jedná o takové pohřby, u nichž bylo dle archeologů užito tzv. protivampyrických zákroků. Předmětem výzkumu jsou archeologické články o výzkumech velkomoravských a mladohradištních pohřebišť. Cílem práce je kritický rozbor jejich pojmosloví a s ním spjatých, povětšinou implicitních teorií s přihlédnutím ke zdrojům, z nichž archeologové tyto teorie přejali. Dále se práce zaměřuje na rozbor způsobů argumentace a uvažování archeologů, následnou korekci a otevření nových alternativ. V rámci zadaného cíle se práce snaží vnést do pole archeologických interpretací několik otázek či modelů rozpracovaných ve studiu náboženství.

Abstract:

This thesis assesses the interpretations of atypical burials in the territory of today’s Bohemia, Moravia and south-western Slovakia taking place since the turn of the 8th and 9th centuries to the 12th century. Specifically, it deals with the funerals where, according to archaeologists, antivampiric measures were applied. The subject of research is archaeologists’ interpretations of these atypical burials, the terminology used, and the related, mostly implicit, theories. Further, the thesis analyzes the arguments in the relevant articles by archaelogists and suggests corrections or attempts at opening new alternatives with regard to more recent theories and concepts anthropology and the study of religions.
