Emotionality in German-written Literature in the Second Half of the 20th Century on the Example of the Novel "Kassandra" by Christa Wolf

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis puts forward an analysis concentrating on the emotion of fear in Kassandra, a novel by the German writer Crista Wolf. The theoretical part explains the term emotion and concerns the classification of positive and negative emotios. In this context, the cntral emoion of the novel, i.e. fear, is discussed. The second theoretical part examines the life of the author until the publication of the novel in 1983, the process of its creation and the relationships between its protagonists. An analysis of the novel follows in the practical section, which is devotet to the female protagonist and the manifestations of her fear. This thesis aims to introduce several forms of human fears contained in the literary work and thus demonstrate the ability of literature to reflect reality.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce představuje literární analýzu zaměřenou na emoci strachu v románu Kassandra německé spisovatelky Christy Wolfové. Teoretická část vysvětluje pojem emoce a zabývá se dělením emocí na negativní a pozitivní. V této souvislosti je zde zpracována ústřední emoce románu, emoce strachu. V druhém oddílu teoretické části je zachycen život autorky do roku 1983, tedy do doby publikace románu, dále proces jeho vzniku a vztahy mezi protagonisty. V praktické části je román podroben analýze, ta se zaměřuje na hlavní hrdinku a podoby jejího strachu. Cílem práce je představit několik forem lidského strachu zpracovaných v literárním díle a tím demonstrovat umění literatury odrážet skutečnost.
