Liver tumors motion during radiotherapy

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje pohybům nádorů jater během radioterapie. Cílem jsou deformace jaterní tkáně. Rozlišujeme pohyby translační, rotační a deformační. Celá práce je rozdělena do dvou základních částí. Teoretická část mé práce se věnuje základům radioterapie, radiobiologie a plánování léčby zářením. Dále jsem se zaměřila na stereotaktickou radioterapii a radiochirurgii, popsán je jedinečný CyberKnife, prozatím jediný v České republice. Velká část teorie patří samotným játrům, životně důležité žláze lidského těla. Popisuji anatomii, patologii a stěžejní pohyby orgánu. V praktické části práce sleduji deformace jater u pěti vybraných pacientů. Cílem studie je zpracování, porovnání a vyhodnocení změn v pozici kontrastních markerů, reprezentujících nádor. Na základě datových souborů - logů hodnotím jednotlivé frakce samostatně a navzájem mezi sebou.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is devoted to the liver tumors motion during radiotherapy. The aim of the thesis is deformation of the liver tissue. We distinguish between movements of translation, rotation and deformation. The whole thesis is divided into two main parts. The theoretical part of my work deals with the basics of radiotherapy, radiobiology and radiation treatment planning. In addition, it also focused on the stereotactic radiotherapy and radiosurgery, described as a unique CyberKnife, still only one in the Czech Republic so far. The large part of the theory concerns liver, vital gland of the human body. Further, I describe the anatomy, pathology and main liver movements. In the practical part I follow the deformation of the liver in five selected patients. The aim of the study is the processing, comparison and evaluation of changes in the position of fiducials, that representing a tumor. Based on the data files - logs I evaluate each fraction separately and fractions between each other.
