Parent's ideas of fulfilling children's needs in social excluded Romany families

Abstract:

Tématem této práce jsou představy rodičů o potřebách dětí v romských sociálně vyloučených rodinách. Hlavním cílem pak je zjištění, jaké mají romští rodiče představy o uspokojování základních potřeb svých dětí. Práce je rozčleněna do sedmi na sebe navazujících kapitol. V teoretické části se věnuje pojmům jako je rodina, potřeby dětí, představy, sociální vyloučení a také specifickým aspektům romské rodiny, kde je pohled zaměřen na prvky životní situace, vztahy mezi členy rodiny, péči o děti a výchovu dětí. Empirická část analyzuje poznatky získané vlastním výzkumem, který byl prováděn technikou polostandardizovaného rozhovoru. Mezi oblasti, na které byly rozhovory zaměřeny, patří představy rodičů o základní péči, stimulaci, zajištění bezpečí, vlastní identitě, orientaci do budoucnosti a výchově dítěte. Rozhovoru se zúčastnilo deset respondentů, kteří byli rozděleni do dvou skupin. V první bylo pět romských matek majících děti od 1 do 10 let věku a druhá byla složena taktéž z pěti respondentů, ale neromských specialistů, kteří se Romy dlouhodobě zabývají nebo s nimi jsou denně v kontaktu. Abstract:

The theme of this work is parent's ideas of children's needs in social excluded Romany families. Main goal is defined as finding of parent’s ideas of fulfilling of their children’s basic needs. This work is divided into seven chapters. In the first part which is concerning theoretical concepts there are described terms such as family, children’s needs, ideas, social exclusion and also specific aspects of Romany families – this chapter is focused on elements of life situation, relations within families, child care and raising children. Next larger part is analysing empirical data gathered from own research done by the method of semi-standardized interview. Research was focused on information about parent's ideas of basic care, stimulation, providing safety, identity of children, orientation on future and raising children. Ten respondents took part in the research and they were divided into two groups. The first group consists of five Romany mothers with children from 1 to 10 years old. The second one was formed by five respondents too, but in this group there were non-Romany specialists, who are interested in Romany people or are in daily contact with them. No. of words: 12117
