Qualitative analysis of statements about parenting

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje tématu rodiny a rodičovství, popisu postupu při provádění kvalitativního výzkumu a vlastnímu kvalitativnímu šetření. První kapitola se zabývá popisem rodiny, její definicí, stručným historickým vývojem a vývojem v současnosti, dále jsou popsány funkce rodiny, její struktura, styly rodinné výchovy a jednotlivé typologie rodiny. První kapitola nadále obsahuje charakteristiku rodičovství, historický pohled na rodičovství, oběti a přínosy, které rodičovství přináší, dále motivaci k vlastnímu rodičovství, formulaci základních zásad správného rodičovského přístupu a popis několika současných výzkumných studií tohoto fenoménu. Druhá kapitola se věnuje metodologii kvalitativního výzkumu a je v ní stručně nastíněn postup při kvalitativním šetření, jednotlivé metody sběru dat a metody analýzy těchto dat, přičemž hlavní důraz je kladen na metodu zakotvené teorie, která se stala východiskem vlastního výzkumu. Třetí kapitola je zaměřena na jednotlivé kroky vlastního kvalitativního šetření. V rámci poslední části diplomové práce jsou popsány jednotlivé fáze otevřeného, axiálního a selektivního kódování, charakterizována centrální kategorii a vyvozena zakotvená tvrzení, která z šetření vyplynula. Na závěr je pak uvedena reflexe výzkumníka.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on topic of family and parenting, description of procedure of research and an own qualitative research. The first chapter deals with the description of the family, its definition, a brief historical development and evolution in the present. Next it describes functions of the family, structure of the family, parenting styles and typologies of families. The first chapter also contains the characteristics of family, historical perspectives on parenting, the self-sacrifice and the benefits that parenthood brings, as well as the motivation for own parenting, the formulation of the basic principles of proper parental access and the description of several current research studies of this phenomenon. The second chapter is devoted to a qualitative research methodology and it briefly outlines the process of the qualitative inquiry, the various methods of data collection and an analysis of these data, the main emphasis is put on the grounded theory method, which became the basis of the own research. The third chapter focuses on the steps of own qualitative analysis. The last part of the thesis describes the various stages of open, axial and selective coding, characterized by a central category and inferred grounded claims that resulted from the analysis. Finally the reflection of the researcher is presented at the end of the chapter.
