Abstract:
Glykosyltransferázy jsou důležitou třídou enzymů, z nichž mnohé jsou zapojeny do závažných onemocnění. Katalyzují tvorbu nové glykosidické vazby mezi cukernou složkou a akceptorem, typicky dalším cukrem. Obvykle jsou glykosyltransferázy specifické pro substrát, což z nich činí vhodný cíl pro návrh nových léků. Glycosyltransferases are an important class of enzymes, many of which are involved in serious diseases. They catalyse the formation of a new glycosidic linkage between a sugar moiety and an acceptor, typically another sugar.
