Criminal aspects of euthanasia

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku euthanasie. V úvodní části jsou vysvětleny jednotlivé pojmy a formy euthanasie a následuje popis paliativní péče, která je nedílnou součástí tohoto tématu. Další část je věnována historickému pohledu antických a středověkých filosofů, kde se mísí názory přiklánějící se k euthanasii s těmi, které jí naprosto odmítají. Vyvrcholením této části je pohled na euthanasii za dob národního socialismu ve třetí říši. Další část je zaměřena na euthanasii z pohledu různých náboženství a z pohledu lékařské etiky. Nesmí také chybět argumenty zastánců euthanasie na straně jedné a odpůrců na straně druhé. Poměrně velká část této práce je věnována právní úpravě euthanasie v jiných evropských zemích a snahám zahrnout euthanasii do právního systému České republiky spolu s rozborem aktuální právní situace. Na závěr byl proveden výzkum pomocí kvantitativní metody - dotazníkového šetření, který měl shrnout názor laické veřejnosti na danou problematiku euthanasie. Dotazník je vyhodnocen pomocí grafického zobrazení s následným shrnutím.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on issues of euthanasia. The introductory part explains the individual concepts and forms of euthanasia, followed by a description of palliative care, which is an integral part of this topic. The next part is devoted to the historical view of ancient and medieval philosophers, which combines the opinions inclined to euthanasia with those who completely reject it. The culmination of this section is the view of euthanasia during the times of National Socialism in the Third Reich. The next part is focused on euthanasia from the point of view of different religions and from the point of view of medical ethics. The arguments of the euthanasia proponents, on the one hand, and the opponents, on the other, can not be missed. A relatively large part of this work is devoted to the legal regulation of euthanasia in other European countries and to the effort to include euthanasia in the legal system of the Czech Republic together with an analysis of the current legal situation. In conclusion, research was carried out by using a quantitative method - a questionnaire survey, which should summarize the opinion of the lay public on the given issue of euthanasia. The questionnaire is evaluated using a graphical view followed by a summary.
