Řecko se v květnu 2010 stalo historicky prvním státem eurozóny, kterému byla poskytnuta finanční pomoc Mezinárodního měnového fondu. In 2010 Greece became historically the first member country of the Eurozone that was provided with International Monetary Fund´s financial help. The IMF then together with the EU's institutions – European Commission and European Central Bank – became one of the key players to be involved in solving the Eurozone debt crisis.
