The Family Disorganization at Chicago School of Sociology and the Present

Abstract:

Chicagská sociologická škola je myšlenkový proud v sociologii, který se utvářel od 20. let 20. století na univerzitě v Chicagu. Ráda bych se zaměřila na konkrétní téma, kterým je "Rozpad rodiny". Cílem je reflektovat tento fenomén v průběhu historie, popsat, jak se vyvíjel a jaký má přesah do současnosti. Sepsat poznatky, které vedly k rozpadu rodiny tehdy a poměřit je s dobou nynější. K tomu mi poslouží empirická část práce. K významným autorům, jež se zabývali tímto fenoménem, patří zejména Ernest R. Mowrer a William I. Thomas. Tito autoři patří k významným představitelům Chicagské školy dvou navazujících období. K realizaci empirické části mé bakalářské práce jsem zvolila kvalitativní metodologii, díky které získám všechna potřebná data. Pro sběr dat mi poslouží polostrukturované rozhovory, a to především proto, že budu mít předem připravený náčrt otázek, podle nichž se budu řídit a v dané situaci, kdy budu rozhovory provádět, mohu v průběhu dotazování otázky pozměnit, úplně vynechat či naopak přidat. K získání těchto informací mi poslouží vzorek 6 - 10 párů respondentů (bývalý manžel - bývalá manželka), přičemž hlavním kritériem bude rozvodovost. Rozhovory budu vést s rozvedenými manžely a manželkami, které jsou nejméně 12 měsíců od sebe (tzn. uběhlo 12 měsíců od rozvodu) a mají společné děti či dítě, které je minimálně 1 rok staré.

Abstract:

The Chicago School of Sociology is a stream of thought in sociology that has been formed at the University of Chicago since the 1920s. I would like to focus on a specific topic, "Family Disintegration". The aim is to reflect this phenomenon in the course of history, to describe how it evolved and how it has overlapped to the present. Write the lessons that led to the break-up of the family at that time and compare them to the present. The empirical part of my work will help me to do this. Among the prominent authors who have dealt with this phenomenon are Ernest R. Mowrer and William I. Thomas. These authors belong to prominent representatives of the Chicago School of two successive periods. To implement the empric part of my bachelor thesis I have chosen a qualitative methodology, thanks to which I get all the necessary data. I use semi-structured interviews to collect the data, mainly because I will have a pre-prepared outline of the questions I will follow and in a given situation, when I do interviews, I can change the questions during the interview, omit or add. A sample of 6 to 10 pairs of respondents (former spouse - former wife) will be used to obtain this information, with divorce being the main criterion. I will lead the interviews with divorced spouses who are at least 12 months apart (ie 12 months after the divorce) and have children or a child who are at least 1 year old.
