Abstract:

Absolventská práce s názvem „Peer konzultantství jako metoda pomoci a péče o duševně nemocné v Psychiatrické nemocnici Bohnice“, si klade za cíl popsat metodu peer konzultantství a zkoumat její má vliv na pomoc a péči o duševně nemocné v Psychiatrické nemocnici Bohnice. Hlavní problém, od kterého se práce odvíjí, je spojen se společenským vnímáním duševně nemocných a s následnými důsledky, které toto vnímání a postoje k duševně nemocným přináší. Úzce s tím související je i postavení duševně nemocných ve společnosti, zejména postavení duševně nemocných, kteří trpí jedněmi z nejvíce stigmatizovaných onemocnění. V důsledku různých stereotypů, mýtů a předsudků, totiž dochází k nepochopení, odmítání a vyčleňování duševně nemocných nejen ze společenského, ale také pracovního nebo rodinného prostředí. Práce se tak zabývá dostupnou péči, kterou mohou duševně nemocní v České republice využívat, čímž autorka směřuje k nové metodě peer konzultantství, které je založena na sdíleném porozumění, respektu a vzájemném posílení mezi peer konzultanty a klienty, kteří v těžkých životních situacích potřebují nejen lékařskou a terapeutickou pomoc, ale také podporu peer konzultantů, kteří jim ukazují, že život s duševní nemocí a také zotavení a návrat do života je možný. Autorka v práci dospěla k závěrům, že ač je život s duševním onemocněním, respektive s jedním ze čtyř nejvíce stigmatizovaných duševních onemocnění, velmi složitý, nepředvídatelný a plný odmítavých postojů společnosti, je přesto možné najít oporu a novou životní sílu prostřednictvím peer konzultantů, kteří se nemoci postavili čelem a svými životními příběhy předávají naději i mezi své klienty. Tento závěr znamená, že přestože je život s duševní nemocí velmi těžkým a pro některé klienty i bezvýchodným stavem, peer konzultantství může těmto lidem nabídnout pomocnou ruku a znovu je navrátit do lidské podoby života.

Abstract:

This graduate work „Peer consultancy as method of support and care for people with mental illness in the Psychiatric hospital Bohnice“ aims to describe the method of peer consultancy and examine it`s influence on patients with mental illness in Psychiatric hospital Bohnice. The main problem, which this work is about, is related to the social perception of the mentally ill people and consequences that this perception and attitude towards the mentally ill brings. It is also closely related to the position of the mentally ill in society, especially the position of mentally ill patients suffering from some of the most stigmatized diseases. As a result of various stereotypes, myths and prejudices, there is misunderstanding, rejecting and disposing of mentally ill people not only from a social but also a work or family environment. This work deals with the available care that can be used by the mentally ill in the Czech Republic, whereby the author is directing to a new method of peer consultancy, which is based on shared understanding, respect and mutual empowerment between peer consultants and clients who, in difficult life situations, need not only medical and therapeutic help, but also the support of peer consultants who show them that life with mental illness as well as recovery and return to life is possible. The author concludes that, although life with mental illness respectively one of the four most stigmatized mental illnesses is very complicated, unpredictable, and full of reluctant attitudes of society, it is still possible to develop new life force through peer consultants who have faced illness and share their life stories with their clients. This conclusion means that even though life with mental illness is very difficult and for some clients also inconceivable state, peer consultancy can offer these people a helping hand and return them again to the human form of life.
