Preferences of students entering the labour market

Abstract:

Tématem této diplomové práce jsou preference zaměstnaneckých benefitů mezi studenty posledních ročníků českých vysokých škol se zaměřením na ekonomické obory. Literární rešerše se zaměřuje na teoretická východiska důležitá pro porozumění zkoumaného tématu, jako je význam zaměstnaneckých benefitů, charakteristika Generace Z či legislativní úprava poskytování zaměstnaneckých výhod v České republice. Praktická část práce spočívá ve zpracování dat získaných v rámci provedeného dotazníkového šetření. Prostřednictvím váženého průměru četností kladných odpovědí je zjištěno 10 nejvíce preferovaných zaměstnaneckých benefitů mezi zástupci Generace Z z řad ekonomicky vzdělaných vysokoškolských studentů. Získané výsledky jsou dále zkoumány prostřednictvím statistických hypotéz. Zjištěné hodnoty čtvercové kontingence a také Pearsonova koeficientu kontingence poukazují na závislost benefitů v podobě Sick days a Podnikového vzdělávání souvisejícího se zaměstnáním na pohlaví a také závislost Sick days a možnosti Parkování na podnikových parkovištích na lokalitě studia. Další pohled na preference zaměstnaneckých výhod poskytuje faktorová analýza, která sloučila některé ze 44 zaměstnaneckých benefitů do 7 faktorů, a to na základě korelace jejich vzájemných preferencí. 10 nejvíce preferovaných zaměstnaneckých benefitů je dále blíže popsáno a vyčísleno v rámci doporučení pro zaměstnavatele. Získané výsledky jsou následně diskutovány v kontextu jiných studií a shrnuty v závěru.

Abstract:

The topic of this thesis is the preferences of employee benefits among final year students of Czech universities with a focus on economics. The literature search focuses on theoretical background essential for understanding the topic under study, such as the importance of employee benefits, characteristics of Generation Z and the legislative regulation of employee benefits in the Czech Republic. The practical part consists in the processing of data obtained through a questionnaire survey. The 10 most preferred employee benefits among representatives of Generation Z from among economically educated university students are determined by means of a weighted average of the frequencies of positive answers. The results obtained are further examined through statistical hypotheses. The values of the square contingency as well as Pearson's contingency coefficient are found to indicate the dependence of benefits in the form of Sick days and Employment Related Corporate Training on gender and also the dependence of Sick days and Corporate Parking facility on the location of study. Further insight into employee benefit preferences is provided by factor analysis, which grouped some of the 44 employee benefits into 7 factors based on the correlation of their relative preferences. The 10 most preferred employee benefits are further described and quantified in the employer recommendations. The results obtained are then discussed in the context of other studies and summarized in the conclusion.
