The nurses knowledge of the seniors urinary incontinence

Abstract:

Ve své diplomové práci jsem se zaměřila na znalosti všeobecných sester o močové inkontinenci ve třech typech zdravotnického a sociálního zařízení, které pečují o inkontinentní klienty. Díky dotazníku jsem získala jejich názory na danou problematiku. V teoretické části najdete kapitoly o jednotlivých druzích močové inkontinence, jejich diagnostice, vyšetřovacích metodách a léčbě. Dále pak kapitoly o vzdělávání a kompetencích všeobecných sester v ČR a péči o inkontinentní klienty. Svoji praktickou část, kterou jsem získala pomocí dotazníkového šetření, jsem zaměřila na rozdíly vzdělanosti všeobecných sester v oblasti močové inkontinence. Dále jsem zařadila znalostní otázky v dané oblasti a na závěr jsem zjišťovala, jaké pomůcky používají na daných pracovištích. Co se týká celkového zhodnocení prvního cíle, z výsledků vyplývá, že na souhrn znalostí o močové inkontinenci má vliv pouze výše dosaženého vzdělání nikoli věk ani délka praxe. Ve druhém cíli jsem zjistila, že největší možnost volby pomůcek pro inkontinentní mají respondentky z domovů pro seniory a lépe se mají klienti ve státním sektoru, kde se jim dostává více pomůcek. Co se týká celkového zhodnocení třetího cíle, z výsledků vyplývá, že na souhrn znalostí o močové inkontinenci, má vliv i to, kde všeobecné sestry pracují.

Abstract:

In my diploma thesis I focused on what nurses know about urinary incontinence in three types of medical and social facilities caring of incontinent clients. I collected their opinions on the above issues through a questionnaire survey. The theoretic part of the thesis contains chapters on individual types of urinary incontinence, their diagnostics, examining methods and treatment. There are also chapters describing education and powers of nurses in the Czech Republic and the care of incontinent clients. The practical part of my thesis, which I acquired through a questionnaire survey, is focused on differences in level of education of nurses in the field of urinary incontinence. The questionnaire also contained knowledge questions regarding the given subject and a survey regarding what aids and equipment they use in the surveyed facilities. For the total assessment of the first objective, the results have shown that the level of knowledge of urinary incontinence is only affected by the level of acquired education, not by nurse’s age or their length of practice. For the second objective I found out that respondents from retirement homes have the largest choice of aids for incontinent clients and that clients in the public sector are provided with more aids. For the total assessment of the third objective, the results have shown that the level of knowledge of urinary incontinence is also affected by the facility in which the nurses work.
