A Process of Succession in a Selected Company

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou mezigeneračního nástupnictví v rodinné firmě Elektroservis Krytinář sídlící v Jablonci nad Nisou. V úvodní části práce je definováno rodinné podnikání a pojmy s tímto tématem související. Dále jsou zde popsána charakteristika rodinného podnikání včetně silných a slabých stránek a různá zpracování životních cyklů rodinných podniků. Druhá kapitola závěrečné práce pojednává o nástupnictví v rodinném podniku. Jsou zde probrána témata jako možnosti předání rodinných firem, proces plánování nástupnictví, výběr a příprava nástupce a také model nástupnictví. V druhé části je nejprve představen vybraný rodinný podnik. Dále je probráno nástupnictví ve vybraném podniku, a to jak již proběhlé nástupnictví, tak i nástupnictví, o kterém pojednává tato práce. Závěrečná kapitola se věnuje samotnému navrženém plánu nástupnictví pro firmu Elektroservis Krytinář. Součástí tohoto plánu je stanovení cílů majitele a nástupce, přezkoumání firemní strategie pomocí analytických nástrojů jako je analýza 7S, Porterova analýza pěti sil, PEST analýza a SWOT analýza, plánování předání odpovědnosti, stanovení hodnoty podniku a financování převodu podniku. Součástí jsou také doporučení, která by měla být majiteli nápomocná při průběhu nástupnictví.

Abstract:

This thesis discusses the topic of intergenerational succession in Elektroservis Krytinář a family owned and run company located in Jablonec nad Nisou. In the introductory part of the thesis, the family business and terms related to the topic are defined. Furthermore, the characteristics of family businesses, their strengths and weaknesses, as well as family businesses' life cycles presented in the literature are described here. The second chapter of the thesis discusses the succession in a family business. Topics such as the possibility of handing over the family businesses, the process of succession planning, the selection and preparation of a successor and the succession model are discussed here. In the second part of the thesis, a selected family business is introduced. The succession in the company is discussed, the former succession is reviewed and the future succession process is analyzed in detail. The final chapter discusses the proposed succession plan for Elektroservis Krytinář. The plan includes determining the goals of the owner and the successor, reviewing the company strategy using analytical tools such as 7S analysis, Porter's five forces analysis, PEST analysis and SWOT analysis. Furthermore, the succession plan contains the transfer of responsibility, determining the value of the business and financing the transfer of the business. Additionally, the plan includes recommendations that should facilitate the owner during the succession process.
