Harmonization of work and personal life from the perspective of employees

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na harmonizaci pracovní a soukromé sféry života z pohledu zaměstnanců. Cílem práce je najít odpověď na hlavní výzkumnou otázku: Jaké bariéry spatřují zaměstnanci konkrétní organizace při harmonizaci pracovní a soukromé sféry života? Pro účely této práce chápu bariéry jako něco, co omezuje zaměstnancovu harmonizaci. V teoretické části práce se zaměřuji na historické změny, které chápu jako příčiny vzniku tohoto tématu. Nerovnováha mezi pracovní a soukromou sférou života je popisována skrze koncepty životní situace, sociálního fungování a sociální role. Dále zmiňuji životní hodnoty jedinců, individuální potřeby a zdroje podpory v oblasti harmonizace. V druhé části této práce popisuji, jaká byla zvolena metodologie výzkumu. Poslední empirická část poskytuje hlavní výzkumná zjištění.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on harmonisation of work and personal life from the employees’s perspective. The aim of the thesis is to answer the following research question: What is found by employees of certain organisation as a barrier in the process of harmonisation of work and personal life? Barriers are addressed as a cause of any difficulties in the process of harmonisation. In the theoretical part of the thesis I focus on historical changes. Those cause the formation of the topic. The imbalance issues between work and personal life are described by using theories; such as the living situation, social functioning and social roles. Furthermore, I mention life values, individual needs and sources of support for individuals in the process of harmonisation. The second part of the thesis focuses on the research methodology. I conclude main research findings in the last empirical part of my thesis.
