Abstract:

Tato práce analyzuje názory a vnímání stakeholderů na možné dopady výstavby mostu Panay-Guimaras-Negros na Filipínách. Cílem je analyzovat názory představitelů dotčených barangayů, starostů obcí, guvernéra provincie a dalších klíčových stakeholderů na projekt PGN a identifikovat jejich postoje a úhly pohledu, jako jsou pozitivní a negativní dopady na socioekonomickou a environmentální situaci na ostrově a jeho obyvatelstvo. Údaje byly shromážděny prostřednictvím polostrukturovaného dotazníkového šetření provedeného během výzkumné expedice přímo na ostrově Guimaras na výzkumném vzorku 14 informátorů. K analýze dat byl použit software Atlas.ti. Hlavním výstupem práce je interpretace výsledků získaných z šetření pomocí přímých výpovědí a jejich srovnání. Výsledky ukazují, že zainteresované strany výstavbu tohoto projektu převážně podporují, a to i přes zmíněné obavy (zejména snížení bezpečnosti ostrova a jeho kapacitní schopnosti). Pozitivní dopady, stejně jako dopady na obyvatelstvo ostrova, převažují. Zároveň bylo zjištěno, že největšími přetrvávajícími překážkami jsou současná politická situace, vládní strategické zaměření a nedostatek národních financí.

Abstract:

This thesis analyses the opinions and perceptions of crucial stakeholders on the potential impacts of the construction of the Panay-Guimaras-Negros Bridge in the Philippines. The aim is to analyze the opinions of the representatives of affected barangays, the municipality mayors, the governor of the province, and other key stakeholders towards the PGN project and identify their attitudes and points of view such as the positive and negative impact on the socioeconomic and environmental situation on the island and its population. The data was collected through a semi structured questionnaire survey conducted during a research expedition directly on Guimaras Island on a research sample of 14 interviewees. Atlas.ti software was used for data analysis. The main output of the thesis is the interpretation of the results obtained from the survey using direct statements and their comparison. The results show that the stakeholders predominantly support the construction of this project, despite the concerns mentioned (especially decreased island security and island’s carrying capacity). The positive impacts, as well as the impacts on the island’s population, tend to prevail. At the same time, the current political situation and its strategic focus and lack of national finance were found to be the greatest persistent obstacles.
