The work deals with the life of Jewish immigrants to the USA at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, as depicted in American literature, specifically in books: Abraham Cahan’s The Rise of David Levinsky, Anzia Yezierska’s Hungry Hearts and Henry Roth’s Call It Sleep. The work focuses on the analysis of the Jewish immigrants’ process of Americanization, of how the assimilation proceeded, and introduces …more
