Managing difficult communication situations in an elementary school classroom

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na komunikační dovednosti a komunikativní kompetence učitele na 1. stupni základní školy, a to v oblasti komunikačně náročnějších témat, která často nejsou součástí rámcového vzdělávacího programu, ale jsou důležitou součástí jak života učitelů, tak žáků, kteří jsou nám svěřeni. Práce se věnuje jak komunikaci jako kompetenci, kterou by měl disponovat každý učitel, tak pohledu do pedagogické praxe. Cílem závěrečné práce je zjistit, která komunikační témata považují učitelé na 1. stupni základní školy za problematická či komunikačně náročná a jak s nimi dále pracují. Jsou tato témata stanovena kurikulem nebo vyvstala z aktuální situace? Empirická část práce je zaměřena na osobní prožitky jednotlivých učitelů přímo z praxe a reflektuje jejich zkušenosti a přístupy. Dívá se na možnosti komunikace jednotlivých témat a způsoby jejich řešení. Praktická část je složena z šesti polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s učiteli z 1. stupně základní školy, které nám pomohou hlouběji nahlédnout do praxe a zjistit, která témata jsou pro učitele či žáky komunikačně náročná, zda je zařazují do běžné výuky, jakým způsobem a za jakých okolností či podmínek.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the communication skills and communicative competences of the teacher at primary school, namely in the area of more demanding topics, which are often not part of the framework educational program, but are an important part of both the life of teachers and pupils entrusted to us. The thesis deals with both communication as a competence that every teacher should possess, and a look into pedagogical practice. The aim of the final thesis is to find out which communication topics teachers at primary school consider problematic or communicatively demanding and how they work with them further. Are these topics set out in the curriculum or have they arisen from the current situation? The empirical part of the thesis is focused on the personal experiences of individual teachers directly from practice and reflects their experience and approaches. It looks at the possibilities of communication of individual topics and ways of solving them. The practical part consists of six semi-structured interviews with teachers from primary school, which will help us to look deeper into practice and find out which topics are difficult for teachers or pupils to communicate, whether they include them in regular teaching, how and under what circumstances or conditions.
