Application of Dog Therapy Methods in the education of preschool-aged children

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce "Využití canisterapie při vzdělávání dětí předškolního věku" se zabývá problematikou canisterapie a jejím využitím při vzdělávání dětí v mateřských školách. Teoretická část vysvětluje terminologii a metody canisterapie, seznamuje s etologií psa, a možnostmi využívání canisterapie u různých věkových skupin s jejími cíli. V práci je představeno občanské sdružení Canisterapie Kladno, jeho canisterapeutické týmy, aktivity a vize. Jsou zde popsány požadavky na canisterapeutický tým a význam canisterapeutických zkoušek psa. Praktická část popisuje konkrétní činnosti dětí se psy a jejich význam. Průzkum byl proveden formou dotazníků s uzavřenými otázkami. Na jeho závěru měli respondenti možnost vyjádřit své náměty a připomínky k praktikování canisterapie. Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce bylo pomocí sondy zjistit, jak jsou rodiče a pedagogové s touto alternativní metodou vzdělávání obeznámeni a jejich názory na její využívání.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis "The use of canistherapy in the education of preschool children" deals with canistherapy and its use in the education of children in kindergartens. The theoretical part explains the terminology and methods of canistherapy, introduces ethology of a dog and possibilities of using canistherapy in different age groups with its objectives. The thesis presents a civic association Canisterapie Kladno, its canistherapy teams activities and visions. There are described requirements of a canistherapy team and the meaning of canistherapy dog tests. The practical part describes the specific activities of children with dogs and their meaning. The survey was performed through questionnaires with closed questions. At the end of the questionnaire respondents had the opportunity to express their ideas and comments on the practice of therapy. The main objective of this thesis was to determine, by using a probe, how parents and educators are familiar with this alternative method of education and their opinions on its use.
