Reading Literacy in Connection to the Current Curriculum in Primary Education

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na výzkum čtenářské gramotnosti žáků v kontextu požadavků aktuálního kurikula. Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit míru úspěšnosti žáků v očekávaných výstupech zaměřených na čtenářskou gramotnost. V teoretické části práce jsou uvedena teoretická východiska pojmu čtenářské gramotnosti a aktuálního kurikula pro Českou republiku. V praktické části práce je zpracován kvantitativně orientovaný výzkum zabývající se zjišťováním dosažení očekávaných výstupů zaměřených na čtenářskou gramotnost. Výzkumný vzorek tvoří 216 žáků po ukončení 1. stupně základní školy, kteří byli testováni pomocí didaktického testu. Výsledky testování ukazují, že žáci nedostatečně ovládají očekávané výstupy zaměřené na čtenářskou gramotnost pro 1. stupeň základní školy. Z výsledků byla vytvořena doporučení do praxe, která mohou být přínosná pro učitele 1. stupně základní školy při rozvíjení čtenářské gramotnosti a naplňování očekávaných výstupů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the research of reading literacy of pupils in the context of the current curriculum requirements. The diploma thesis aims to determine the level of pupils' success in the expected outcomes focused on reading literacy. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the theoretical background of the concept of reading literacy and the current curriculum for the Czech Republic. In the practical part of the thesis, quantitative research is conducted to determine the achievement of expected outcomes focused on reading literacy. The research sample consists of 216 pupils after the first grade of primary school who were tested using a didactic test. The results of the testing show that the pupils have insufficient mastery of the expected outcomes focusing on reading literacy for primary school. From the results, practice recommendations were made that can be beneficial to teachers in primary school in developing reading literacy and meeting the expected outcomes.
