Digital transformation of the Business Administration Faculty

Abstract:

Digitální svět dnešní doby je specifický dynamickým prostředím, rychlými změnami na trhu produktů a služeb a rapidním technologickým vývojem. Cílem této práce je vytvořit strategii digitální transformace Podnikohospodářské fakulty VŠE, aby i ona, jako poskytovatel vzdělávací služby, byla schopna reagovat na měnící se požadavky pracovního trhu. První část práce vytváří teoretický rámec digitální transformace. Zařazuje ji do historického kontextu, popisuje disruptivní síly, které jsou příčinou této celosvětové změny a následně se zaměřuje na hlavní oblasti firemního řízení, kterých se digitální transformace dotýká. Práce pak pokračuje již konkrétními oblastmi strategie, na které se fakulta musí zaměřit a analyzuje hlavní výzvy vzdělávání. Pro doplnění zahraničních statistik byl využit dotazník sledující trendy mezi českými studenty. Závěrem je celá situace uvedena do CCQ frameworku a na základě analýz vnitřního a vnějšího prostředí vznikla třífázová strategie, jejímž cílem je postupná integrace nástrojů a procesů, které zajistí relevantnost a důležitost Podnikohospodářské fakulty VŠE v následujících letech.

Abstract:

The digital world in the 21st century is specified by the dynamic environment, fast-paced changes at the market, and rapid technological growth. The goal of the thesis is to create the digital transformation strategy of the Business Administration faculty of the University of Economics in Prague so it’s able to provide educational services and is agile enough to react to all requirements of the market. The first part focuses on building the theoretical basis of digital transformation and putting it into the context of previous industrial revolutions. Disruptive forces are described which are the source of the global change. Finally, it focuses on business operations and how they are affected by the transformation. Next, deep analysis of educational systém is conducted and main areas, which are being threatened by the turbulent market, are defined. Using global and Czech statistics, the problem is defined by the CCQ Framework. The framework is then used to build a three-phase strategy, focusing on all areas which were pointed out as the main threats to the faculty. The goal is to make sure, that Business Administration faculty can provide superb services in the upcoming years.
