Time Series Analysis in a Specific Issue of the Hospitality

Abstract:

V diplomové práci, která má za cíl analýzu dat z oblasti hotelnictví časové řady let 2012 až 2021, jsou využity tyto výzkumné metody: analýza vzorového čtyřhvězdičkového hotelu Equitana Hotel Resort a všech čtyřhvězdičkových hotelů v České republice a k tomu navázané další analýzy: časových řad, návštěvnosti, rozptylu, trendu a nakonec regresní a korelační analýza. Prostřednictvím těchto analýz jsou přijaty dvě alternativní hypotézy: „Struktura návštěvnosti vybraného čtyřhvězdičkového hotelu Equitana Hotel Resort je rozdílná od struktury návštěvnosti všech čtyřhvězdičkových hotelů na území České republiky.“ a „Existují statisticky průkazné rozdíly, kdy alespoň jedna dvojice průměrů ročníku, typu návštěvnosti a typu hotelu se statisticky průkazně liší na zvolené hladině významnosti.“ Diplomová práce je rozdělena do tří základních částí: teoretické, analytické a návrhové části. V teoretické části dochází k definování cestovního ruchu, hotelnictví, statistiky a jednotlivých statistických testů, které jsou poté sestaveny, vypočteny a zobrazeny prostřednictvím tabulek a grafů v analytické části. Návrhová část navazuje na výsledky provedených testů v analytické části a obsahuje návrhy a doporučení, jak zvýšit návštěvnost hotelů v České republice a také konkrétní návrhy přímo pro vzorový hotel Equitana Hotel Resort.

Abstract:

The master's dissertation, which aims to analyze data from hotel industry time series from 2012 to 2021, uses following research methods: analysis of the sample four-star Equitana Hotel Resort and all four-star hotels in the Czech Republic, along with additional analyses of time series, visitation/attendance, variance, trend, and finally regression and correlation analysis. Through these analyses, two alternative hypotheses are accepted: "The structure of attendance in the selected four-star Equitana Hotel Resort is different from the structure of attendance in all four-star hotels in the Czech Republic." and "There are statistically significant differences when at least one pair of avarage of the year, attendance type, and hotel type, differ significantly at the chosen level of significance." The master’s dissertation is divided into three main parts: theoretical, analytical, and proposal part. In the theoretical part is defined tourism, hotel industry, statistics and various statistical tests are defined, which are then compiled, calculated, and displayed through tables and graphs in the analytical part. The proposal part follows the results of the tests performed in the analytical part and contains proposals and recommendations on how to increase hotel visitation/attendance in the Czech Republic, as well as specific proposals specifically for the sample hotel, Equitana Hotel Resort.
