Extremismus je možné charakterizovat jako ideologii nebo aktivitu, která vybočuje ze zákonných a ústavních norem, s prvky útočícími proti základním demokratickým principům, které jsou definovány v ústavním pořádku České republiky. Extremism can be characterized as an ideology or an activity that stands out from Legal and Constitutional Standards; with elements assaulting basic democratic principles which are defined in the Constitution of the Czech Republic.
