The Influence of English on Japanese Vocabulary

Abstract:

Ve své práci se zabývám vlivem angličtiny, respektive slov přejatých z angličtiny, na japonské lexikum. Popisuji přejímání slov, především z angličtiny v jednotlivých historických obdobích a vliv angličtiny na japonštinu na počátku 21. století. Dále se zabývám důvody proč byla a stále jsou přejímána slova z angličtiny v takové míře a především změnami, kterými přejatá slova po přijetí do japonštiny prošla.V neposlední řadě jsem se zaměřila i na problémy s asimilací slov cizího původu

Abstract:

My thesis deals with the influence of the words borrowed from English on Japanese vocabulary. I am describing the process of borrowing of words, especially from English from the historical point of view as well as the situation at the begining of the 21st century. I analyse the reasons, why so many English words were and are still borrowed from English and the changes, that the borrowed words have gone through after they became part of the Japanese lexicon. I also focus on the problems with the assimilation of the foreign words
