The communication between paramedical staff and mentally disabled clients in clinics

Abstract:

Práce je věnována problematice komunikace nelékařského zdravotnického pracovníka s lidmi s mentálním postižením. Zaměřuje se na zvláštnosti komunikace, specifický přístup k lidem s postižením a na bariéry v komunikaci. Zahrnuje i možnosti využití alternativních a augmentativních komunikačních metod. Dále se zabývá důležitostí dodržování zásad správné komunikace ve zdravotnictví. Tato práce má za cíl zmapovat komunikační dovednosti nelékařských zdravotnických pracovníků v ambulancích, případné potíže při komunikaci, zjistit z jakého zdroje nejčastěji získávají informací. To vše ve vztahu k lidem s mentálním postižením.

Abstract:

The work is dedicated to the communication between paramedical staff and people with learning disabilities. It focuses on the specifics of communication, how to approach people with disabilities and barriers to communication. It also involves the use of alternative and additional communication methods, and deals with the importance of respecting the principles of good communication in health care. This work aims to map the communication skills of paramedical staff in outpatient clinics, potential difficulties in communication, and identifying the source of the most frequently required information. All of this is in relation to people with mental disabilities.
