Micellization Behavior of Mixtures of Conventional and Polymeric Surfactants and Interactions with Biopolymers

Abstract:

Teoretická část diplomové práce je zaměřena na obecné vlastnosti tenzidů a jejich chování ve směsi s důrazem na charakterizaci tenzidů použitých v experimentální části. Dále jsou zde klasifikovány biopolymery a v neposlední řadě jsou popsány vzájemné interakce mezi nimi a povrchově aktivními látkami. V praktické části byly zkoumány micelizační charakteristiky vybraných tenzidů, neionic-kého Poloxameru 188, anionického dioktyl sulfosukcinátu sodného a jejich směsí v závis-losti na pH prostředí pomocí měření povrchového napětí a velikosti částic. Interakce v sys-témech tenzid/chitosan byly studovány opět prostřednictvím tenziometrie, dále měření vis-kozity a zeta potenciálu.

Abstract:

The theoretical part of the diploma thesis is focused on the general properties of surfactants and their behavior in mixture with the emphasis on the characterization of surfactants used in the experimental part. Biopolymers are also classified here and, last but not least, the interactions between them and surfactants are described. In the practical part, the micellization characteristics of selected surfactants, nonionic Po-loxamer 188, anionic sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate and their mixtures, depending on the pH of the medium, were examined by measuring surface tension and particle size. In-teractions in surfactant/chitosan systems were studied by tensiometry, viscosity and zeta potential measurements.
