Classroom Climate and Bullying at an Upper Primary School

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na šikanu a klima třídy, a to především na souvislost mezi sociálním začleněním (kolektivem spolužáků) ve třídě a výskytem šikany na 2. stupni základní školy. V práci je stručně popsáno klima školy a třídy, které významně ovlivňuje fungování všech přítomných v edukačním procesu. V další části práce je podrobně vymezena šikana, její stádia, směry, prevence a interpretace. Dále jsou zde popsány charakteristiky staršího školního věku. Praktická část byla vypracována na základě dvou dotazníků, a to Kolářova dotazníku o šikanování a sociometrického testu. Tyto dva výzkumné nástroje byly adresovány do dvou škol, kdy se škola č. 1 měla dle výroční zprávy ředitele školy vyznačovat pozitivním klimatem školy a vzájemným respektem vůči všem přítomným, a naopak ve škole č. 2 by měl být pravděpodobnější výskyt šikany a dalšího rizikového chování. Následně došlo k porovnání těchto dvou škol.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis focuses on bullying and classroom climate, and in particular on the link between social inclusion (the collective of classmates) in the classroom and the incidence of bullying at the second level of primary school. The thesis briefly describes the school and classroom climate, which significantly influences the functioning of all those present in the educational process. In the next part of the thesis, bullying, stages, directions, prevention, and interpretation are defined. Furthermore, the characteristics of the older school-age population are described. The practical part was developed based on two questionnaires: Kolar's questionnaire on bullying and the sociometric test. These two research instruments were addressed to two schools, where School 1 was expected to be characterized by a positive school climate and mutual respect for all present, according to the annual report of the school principal, and on the contrary, School 2 was expected to be more likely to have bullying and other risky behaviors. Subsequently, a comparison of the two schools was made.
