Interpopulation variability in the shape of the human face from the perspective of morphoscopic traits

Abstract:

The main goal of this work is to examine the variability in the shape of the human face from the perspective of morphoscopic traits of individuals who are in the database of 3D faces - FIDENTIS and do not report to the Slovak or Czech population (foreigners) and compare them with the human faces from the Czech and Slovak population (local popula-tion). All the faces from the FIDENTIS database were scanned using a Vectra M1 scan-ner. Somatoscopic features on the faces of individuals will be observed and the evalu-ation will take place in the Meshlab program environment. The theoretical part defines the general anatomy of the human face, the change of the human face during evolution, the variability that is caused by various factors and the frequency of occurrence of vari-ous features on the human face in the world's population. We also describe the applica-tion of digital 3D recording and analytical methods, which are used in the study of inter-population facial variability. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the files using descriptive statistics, character frequency evaluation, measurement error. In the discussi-on we compare the frequency of evaluated characters between foreigners and people from the local population.

Abstract:

Hlavným cieľom tejto práce je skúmanie variability v tvare ľudskej tváre jedincov, ktorí sa nachádzajú v databáze 3D tvárí – FIDENTIS a nehlásia sa k slovenskej ani k českej populácii (cudzinci) a ich porovnanie s tvárami ľudí z českej a zo slovenskej populácie (lokálna populácia). Všetky tváre z databázy FIDENTIS boli naskenované za pomoci skeneru Vectra M1. Pozorované budú somatoskopické znaky na tvári jedincov a hodnotenie sa uskutoční v prostredí programu Meshlab. V teoretickej časti sa zaoberám všeobecnou anatómiou ľudskej tváre, zmenou ľudskej tváre v priebehu evolúcie, variabilitou, ktorá je spôsobená rôznymi faktormi a frekvenciou výskytu rôznych znakov na tvári človeka vo svetových populáciách. Ďalej sa zaoberám uplatnením digitálnych 3D záznamových a analytických metód, ktoré sú používané pri štúdiu medzipopulačnej variability tváre. V praktickej časti sa venujem popisnej štatistike analyzovaných súborov, hodnotím frekvencie znakov, chybu merania a v diskusii porovnávam frekvencie zhodnotených znakov medzi cudzincami a ľuďmi z lokálnej populácie.
