The function of penalty and punishment in the modern society
Abstract:
Tato diplomová práce se zabývá zejména principy a funkcemi trestání. Popisuje vývoj v přístupech k trestání a nejvýznamnější teorie funkcí trestu. V další části analyzuje současnou trestní politiku, ukládané trestní sankce a hodnotí je zejména z hlediska výše zmíněných principů a funkcí.
Abstract:
This thesis deals especially with the principles and functions of punishment. It describes the progression in the approach to the punishment and the most significant theories of the functions of punishment. In the other part it analyzes the present-day criminal policy, the punitive sanctions which are being imposed, and evaluates them in light of the aforementioned principles and functions.
