Consumerism and consumer society in cosmetic industry

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem konzumerismu a konzumní společnosti na kosmetickém trhu. Práce je rozdělena do několika částí, kdy východiskem první části je teorie spotřebitele v konzumním prostředí. Dále teoretická část práce vymezuje konzumní společnost v prostředí kosmetického trhu a pojednává o důsledcích neekologického chování a možných řešeních. Cílem práce je porovnat nákupní chování spotřebitelů jednotlivých generací a jejich zájem o udržitelnější produkty a vyhodnotit tak, která z generací je více konzumní. Pro zpracování praktické části byla použita forma online dotazníkového šetření, kterého se zúčastnilo 134 respondentů. Na základě odpovědí byl zhodnocen stav obyvatel České republiky ve vztahu k udržitelnosti na kosmetickém trhu, a to kolik peněz jsou schopni utratit za kosmetické produkty, jak často nakupují tyto produkty, jestli lpí na udržitelné výrobě či jestli mají povědomí o dopadu fast kosmetiky na životní prostředí.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of consumerism and consumer society in the cosmetics market. The thesis is divided into several parts. The first part is based on the theory of the consumer in a consumerist environment. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the consumer society in the cosmetic market environment and discusses the consequences of non-organic behaviour and possible solutions. The aim of the thesis is to compare the purchasing behaviour of consumers of different generations and their willingness to be interested in more sustainable products and thus evaluate which generation is more consumerist. For the practical part of the study an online questionnaire survey was used, which was attended by 134 respondents. The answers were used to assess the state of the Czech population in relation to sustainability in the cosmetics market, specifically how much money they are able to spend on cosmetic products, how often they buy these products, whether they adhere to sustainable production or whether they are aware of the environmental impact of fast cosmetics.
