The Evaluation of Selected Items of the Balance Sheet - the Accounting and Tax Perspective of Fixed Assets

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je analýza dlouhodobého hmotného majetku z účetního a daňového pohledu. V první části je nejdříve charakterizován daňový a účetní systém České republiky. Jsou zde uvedeny druhy účetních systémů a vyjádřen postup při výpočtu daně z příjmů právnických osob. Další část obsahuje vymezení dlouhodobého hmotného majetku, způsob jeho pořízení, ocenění, definování technického zhodnocení, vymezení způsobů odpisování a nakonec i vyřazení. Všechny tyto oblasti jsou vymezeny jak z účetního, tak z daňového pohledu. V praktické části práce je představen vybraný podnik, charakterizován předmět jeho činnosti a popsána účetní evidence dlouhodobého majetku v tomto podniku. V další části jsou mezi sebou porovnány odlišné způsoby účetního i daňového odpisování. Na konec je vyčíslen jejich výsledný vliv na základ daně a daňovou povinnost podniku.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is an analysis of an accounting and tax perspective of fixed assets. The tax system and accounting system applied in the Czech republic is identified in the first part of this thesis. The types of taxes and accounting systems are introduced there along with the process of calculating the income tax of companies. The next part specifies fixed assets, methods of their acquisition, measurement techniques, definition of technical evaluation, the calculation of depreciation as well as their disposal. All those processes are described from both the accounting and tax perspective. The practical part introduces a company, its business, and the accounting evidence of fixed assets is described. The next part compares individual methods of accounting and tax depreciation. In the end, the influence of depreciation on the tax base, as well as on the corporate income tax is analysed.
