Diplomová práce se zabývá strukturou a vývojem osídlení v Jihomoravském kraji. Nejprve je zpracován literární přehled, který je zaměřen na vývoj osídlení českého venkova, demografický přechod a typologii venkova. V následující kapitole je vymezen venkov podle vybraných definic.
