The impact of ESG on the banking sector

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá oblastí environmentální, sociální a správy a řízení neboli ESG. V bakalářské práci jsou popsány jeho dopady na bankovní sektor s konkrétním příkladem na České spořitelně. Teoretická část popisuje základní pilíře ESG, jejich důvody a dopady na bankovní sektor. Dále je vysvětlen nefinanční reporting a regulace ESG, včetně ESG hodnocení, ratingových agentur a kritérií podle kterých se ESG hodnocení dělá. Praktická část zahrnuje kvantitativní výzkum zaměřený na dopady ESG na bankovní sektor a strategii České spořitelny v implementaci ESG, která je vysvětlena díky hloubkového rozhovoru.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the field of environmental, social and governance (ESG). The bachelor's thesis describes its impacts on the banking sector with a specific example at Česká spořitelna. The theoretical part describes the basic pillars of ESG, their reasons and outcomes in the banking sector. Furthermore, non-financial reporting and ESG regulation are explained, including ESG ratings, rating agencies and criteria according to which ESG ratings are made. The practical part includes quantitative research focused on the effects of ESG on the banking sector and the strategy of Česká spořitelna in the implementation of ESG, which is explained thanks to an in-depth interview.
