Práce se zabývá zdravím, jako složkou lidského kapitálu, a jeho vlivem na hospodářský růst. Definuje lidský kapitál, externality vznikající při investicích do něj, roli výše agregátních zásob lidského kapitálu v zemi a význam lidského kapitálu v otázce ekonomického růstu.
