Family and Parenthood from the Point of View of Todays Mothers

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku rodiny a rodičovství z pohledu dnešních matek. Teoretická část obsahuje základní charakteristiku rodiny, dále se zabývá skutečnostmi, které ovlivňují život současné rodiny. Zahrnuje také proměny rodiny v historii. Zabývá se rodičovstvím - co to znamená "být rodičem" a jaké jsou role rodičů. Empirická část práce obsahuje analýzu dotazníků, které vyplňovaly současné matky. Cílem bylo zjistit, jak matky vnímají podobu současné rodiny a rodičovství, jak se staví k tradičním i alternativním formám partnerského soužití, co pro ně znamená mateřství, a jak vnímají roli otce v rodině.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the problematic family and parenthood from the point of view of contemporary mothers. The theoretical part includes basic characteristic, it also deals with facts which influence life of actual family. It also contains changes of family in history. It deals with parenthood – what does it mean “to be a parent” and what is the role of parents. The research includes the analysis of questionnaire filled by the contemporary mothers. The aim was to find how do mothers perceive image of actual family and parenthood, what is their pose to traditional and alternative forms of cohabitation, what does motherhood means to them and what is their pose to the role of father in family.
