Migration: causes and risks to the stability of the EU

Abstract:

V této práci se zabývám migrační vlnou, která zasáhla Evropskou unii v roce 2015, kdy počet žádostí o azyl překročilo jeden a půl milionu žádostí. Nadměrný počet migrantů na evropském kontinentu s sebou nese mnoho rizik a otázek. Cílem práce je, na některé z nich odpovědět. Po krátkém historickém exkurzu význačných migračních vln se zabývám pomocí dedukce a analýzy příčinami migrace. Analyzuji Schengenský hraniční kodex a porovnávám jej se skutečností, kdy některé členské státy zavedly kontroly na hranicích a neustále je prodlužují. Současně se zaměřuji na problém integrace imigrantů, kde přicházím s relativně neortodoxními obecnými návrhy řešení, jak docílit toho, aby integrační proces zejména první generace, byl úspěšný a zamezilo se tomu, že tato, nebo druhá či třetí generace imigrantů bude nacházet vysvobození v radikalismu či terorismu. Na závěr také poukazuji na některé populistické strany, které díky migrační krizi získávají voličskou podporu, a které se zároveň netají euroskeptickými názory. Tento fakt přináší riziko, že tyto strany získají dostatečnou voličskou podporu, která jim umožní rozhodovat o dalším směřování svých zemí, které by mohlo vyústit v separaci od EU po vzoru Velké Británie. Po přečtení této práce by čtenář měl mimo jiné získat širší povědomí o příčinách migrační krize, a současně jej vyzvat k zamyšlení nad přístupem k řešení rizik, jež jsou s ní spojena.

Abstract:

In this work I deal primarily with migration wave that hit the European Union in 2015, when the number of asylum applications has exceeded one and a half million applications. Excessive number of migrants in the European continent carries many risks and issues. The aim is to answer some of them. After a brief historical excursion of significant migration flows, I have used deductive methods to find causes of migration. Analyzing the Schengen Borders Code, and compare it with reality, some Member States have introduced border controls and these controls are extended constantly. At the same time I focus on the issue of integration of immigrants, where I am coming with relatively unorthodox general solution proposals to achieve that assimilation process especially first generation was successful and to avoid that this or second or third generation of immigrants would find deliverance in radicalism or terrorism. Finally, I also point out some populist parties, which due to the migration crisis are gaining electoral support and that also makes no secret of Eurosceptic views. This fact brings the risk that these parties gain sufficient electoral support, which would enable them to decide on the future direction of their country. This could result in separation from the EU just like it happened in Great Britain. After reading this article, the readers should get a notion of the broader awareness of the causes of the migration crisis and simultaneously invite them to reflect on the approach to deal with the risks that are associated with.
