Rock and roll as a way of life

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce, jejíž náplní je rock and roll, se snaží tento specifický hudební proud postihnout od jeho počátků až po dopad na současné hudební styly. Není pouhým konstatováním, že tento žánr existoval, ale poukazuje na řadu sociálních a kulturních souvislostí. Zabývá se problematikou náboženství, rasismu či genderovou segregací. Uvádí, odkud rock and roll čerpal inspiraci a z jakých předchozích žánrů populární hudby postupně vznikal. Díky tomu se nám jeví jako spojnice v hudbě mezi první a druhou polovinou 20. století. Na počátku 50. let přišla mladá generace rebelů, kterým se už nelíbil dosavadní způsob života, chtěli jít proti současnému proudu a nemalou měrou provokovat. Především jejich zásluhou a za pomoci DJ Alana Freeda, který jim přes rozhlasové přijímače rock and roll zprostředkovával, se rozšířila nová hudební vlna.

Abstract:

Bachelor?s work, whose main topic is rock and roll, tries this specific musical stream study from its beginnings to the impact on the current music styles. It isn?t only statement that the genre existed, but points to a number of social and cultural contexts. It deals with issues of religion, racism or gender segregation. It states, where rock and roll took inspiration and from which previous genres of popular music gradually formed. Thanks to that, we appear as a link in music between the first and second half of the 20th century. At the beginning of the 50s came a young generation of rebels, which already didn?t like the current way of life, they wanted to go against the current stream and provoke with considerable extent. Especially thanks to them, and with the help of DJ Alan Freed, who over their radios mediated rock and roll, spread new wave of music.
