Applying Bloom's Taxonomy in the geography learning tasks at primary school

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá aplikací Bloomovy taxonomie při tvorbě učebních úloh pro starší žáky 1. stupně základních škol. Práce je rozdělená na tři části: teoretická, empirická a praktická. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na novodobé představy, jakým způsobem by na výuku geografických dovedností, rozvíjení geografické gramotnosti, mělo být pohlíženo v rámci dnešního školství, dále se také soustředí na postavení geografického vzdělávání v českém základním školství, tedy na tematický okruh člověk a svět - místo, kde žijeme. Druhá kapitola se soustředí na taxonomii učebních cílů se zaměřením především na Bloomovu taxonomii kognitivních cílů z roku 1956 a její revidovanou verzi z roku 2001. Následně je pozornost věnována teorii učebních úloh, jejich definici, funkci a rozdělení testových úloh. Poslední část teoretické části pojednává o zapojení prvků diferenciace a individualizace ve výuce, mimo jiné formou scaffoldingu. Empirická část popisuje průběh a výsledky výzkumného šetření, kde 3 žákyně řešily učební úlohy geografického zaměření, které byly rozděleny právě podle kognitivní náročnosti dle revidované Bloomovy taxonomie. Zkoumala se četnost, úspěšnost, výběr a hodnocení řešených úloh. Výsledky výzkumného šetření se nedají zobecnit a aplikovat na práci dalších možných řešitelů úloh, jelikož subjektů šetření bylo málo, a zároveň se v daném čase nepodařilo řešit významnější množství úloh. Poslední část práce nabízí soubor vytvořených geografických učebních úloh seřazených dle kognitivní náročnosti.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the application of bloom's taxonomy in the development of learning tasks for older primary school pupils. The thesis is divided into three parts: theoretical, empirical and practical. The theoretical part focuses on the modern ideas of how the teaching of geographical skills, the development of geographical literacy, should be viewed within the framework of today's education system, and it also focuses on the position of geographical education in czech primary education, i.e. On the thematic area of man and the world - the place where we live. The second chapter concentrates on the taxonomy of learning objectives, focusing mainly on bloom's taxonomy of cognitive objectives from 1956 and its revised version from 2001. Subsequently, attention is given to the theory of learning tasks, their definition, function, and the distribution of test tasks. The last part of the theoretical section discusses the involvement of elements of differentiation and individualization in teaching, including through scaffolding. The empirical part describes the course and results of the research investigation, where 3 students solved learning tasks of geographic orientation, which were divided just according to cognitive difficulty according to the revised bloom's taxonomy. The frequency, success rate, selection and evaluation of the solved tasks were investigated. The results of the research investigation cannot be generalized and applied to the work of other potential problem solvers, as the subjects of the investigation were few in number, and at the same time no significant number of problems could be solved in the given time. The last part of the thesis offers a set of created geographical learning tasks sorted by by cognitive difficulty.
