Activation Doings with Demented Seniors

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce poskytuje náhled na problematiku aktivizace seniorů s demencí žijících v jejich domácím prostředí. Aktivizace seniorů je dnes velice diskutované téma. Cílem práce je analýza problematiky aktivizačních činností pro seniory s demencí žijících ve svém přirozeném prostředí a zároveň identifikace kritických bodů samostatného života seniorů s demencí a problémů, se kterými se setkává pečující osoba. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do dvou částí a to do části teoretické a do části výzkumné. Teoretická část se skládá ze čtyř kapitol, které se zabývají problematikou stáří a stárnutí, definicí a druhy demence, sociální prací se seniory a aktivizačními činnostmi. Výzkumná část je rozdělena do dvou kapitol, které se věnují metodologii výzkumu a analýze s interpretací výsledků výzkumu. K dosažení cíle diplomové práce byla použita kvalitativní výzkumná strategie. Výzkum byl realizován metodou případové studie s ohledem na zkoumanou problematiku. Pro sběr kvalitativních dat byla vybrána technika polostrukturovaného interview. Výzkum realizovaný v rámci této práce přinesl shrnutí kritických bodů dokládajících náročnost péče osob o svého rodiče trpící demencí. Práce také odhalila slabá místa v oblasti terénní sociální práce a informovanosti o aktivizačních činnostech pro seniory.

Abstract:

The thesis provides insight into the issues of activation of seniors with dementia living in their home environment. The activation of seniors is a very hot topic today. The aim of this thesis is the problem analysis of the activation doings for seniors with dementia living in their natural environment and the identifying of critical points for independent living seniors with dementia and the problems with them are the caregivers encounter. The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical part and research one. The theoretical part consists of four chapters that deal with problems of old age and the aging, definitions and types of dementia, social work with the seniors and the activation doings. The research part is divided into two chapters dedicated to the research methodology and analysis with the interpretation of research results. The qualitative research strategy was used to the achievement of the thesis aim. The research was carried out by a case study with regard to the investigative issue. The technique of semistructured interview was chosen for the collection of qualitative data. The research carried out in this work brought a summary of the critical points showing the intensity of care for people that take care for their parents with dementia. The work also revealed the weaknesses in the area of social work and the awareness of activation doings for seniors.
