Sustainable development of the company with a focus on waste management

Abstract:

Diplomová práce pojednává o problematice odpadového hospodářství neboli o pilotním projektu zaměřeného na třídění nových druhů odpadů v jedné z budov vybraného podniku. V první části práce se autorka zaměřuje na teoretická východiska, předmětem je zejména vymezení koncepce environmentálního pilíře jakožto součásti jednoho z pilířů udržitelného rozvoje podniku. Následně je blíže charakterizována problematika odpadového hospodářství, její právní úprava, používané nástroje a význam a cíle odpadového hospodářství. Cílem práce je zhodnotit pilotní projekt zaměřený na třídění nových druhů odpadů, který je realizován v jedné z budov vybraného podniku, na základě zjištěných nedostatků navrhnout vhodná opatření na zlepšení tohoto projektu v oblasti třídění odpadů pro útvar Facility Management a Ekologie a pracovní ochrany a sestavit návrh projektového plánu na rozšíření nového způsobu třídění do dalších administrativních budov podniku. V analytické části je věnována pozornost stávající situaci v oblasti nakládání s odpady v podniku, resp. v budově Administrativního centra, včetně zhodnocení pilotního projektu. Dotazníkové šetření se zaměřuje nejen na zhodnocení pilotního projektu a identifikaci nedostatků v rozšíření třídění odpadu, ale také na samotné názory a návrhy ze strany zaměstnanců. Dále jsou pomocí vybraných zkoumaných závislostí mezi jednotlivými znaky a na základě testování hypotéz v závěru práce představena doporučení pro zlepšení pilotního projektu, která jsou poté ekonomicky a environmentálně zhodnocena. Dle zjištěných skutečností je následně sestaven návrh projektového plánu na rozšíření nového způsobu třídění do dalších administrativních budov podniku.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis called "Sustainable development of the company with a focus on waste management" deals with an issue of waste management and a pilot project in an extension of waste sorting in the chosen company building. In the first part of the thesis the author focuses on the theoretical background, the subject is mainly to define a concept of environmental pillar as a part of one of the pillars of sustainable development of the company. Subsequently, the waste management issues, their legal regulations, the importance and the objectives of waste management and the used tools are described in more details. Based on the evaluation of the pilot project in an extension of waste sorting in the chosen company building, the aim is to propose suitable measures for Facility Management and Ecology and Occupational Protection departmens based on the identified shortcomings and draft a project plan to expand a new method of sorting to other administrative buildings of the company. The analytical part is devoted to the current situation in the field of waste management in the building of the Administrative Center, including the evaluation of the pilot project. The questionnaire survey focuses not only on the evaluation of the pilot project and identification of shortcomings in the extension of the waste sorting, but also on the opinions and suggestions of the employees themselves. By examining interdependencies between individual features and on the basis of hypothesis testing, the conclusion of the thesis presents recommendations for improvement of the project in the extension of waste sorting, which are then economically and environmentally evaluated. According to the findings, is draft a project plan to expand a new method of sorting to other administrative buildings of the company.
