Identity of Police Organisation

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je identita policejní organizace. Struktura průzkumu vychází z dotazníku, který byl sestaven pro projekt Comparative Police Studies in the EU a je zaměřený na výzkum změn v evropských policejních silách. V teoretické části je popsána struktura Policie České republiky, její řízení a útvary. Dále jsou charakterizovány úkoly a formy činnosti pořádkové policie. Jsou zde rozebrána oprávnění a povinnosti policisty a důvody pro udělení kázeňské odměny nebo trestu. Teoretická část se dále věnuje etickému kodexu policie, identitě a kultuře organizace. V praktické části práce průzkum testuje, zda jsou policejní síly připraveny ke změnám. Jaký mají policisté vztah k policejní profesi a do jaké míry jsou policisté ochotni přijímat změny. V závěru praktické části je vyhodnocení získaných dat, přičemž výsledným zjištěním je, že výzkumný soubor na svoji profesi nahlíží pozitivně a má kladný vztah ke změnám.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the identity of the police organisation. The structure of the utilised research is based on the survey which was conducted as a part of Comparative Police Studies in the EU project and is focused on the research of changes in European Police Forces. The theoretical part describes the structure of Police of the Czech Republic, its management and units. Furthermore, the duties and operations of the riot police are characterised. Also, it examines the authority and duties of police officers, and the reasons for disciplinary actions or bonuses. Additionally, the theoretical part is concerned with the Police code of conduct, identity and organisation. In the practical part, the research attempts to test whether the Police forces are ready for the changes, the attitude of police officers to their profession, and the extent, to which police officers are willing to accept changes. The practical part concludes with the evaluation of obtained data while the set of data under investigation shows that the profession is viewed positively and the attitude to changes is positive as well.
