Burnout syndrome in informal carers

Abstract:

Jako téma své diplomové práce jsem si zvolila "Syndrom vyhoření u neformálních pečujících". Blíže jsem se zaměřovala na neformální pečující, kteří se starali o seniory. Ve svém okolí znám osoby, které se stali neformálními pečujícími a byli tak vystaveni riziku vzniku syndromu vyhoření. Cílem práce bylo zjistit a analyzovat, jak moc jsou neformální pečující ohroženi vznikem syndromu vyhoření a jaké aspekty nejčastěji považují neformální pečující za příčinu vzniku syndromu vyhoření. Všechny respondentky se staraly o seniory, proto se v teoretické části této práce v první řadě zabývám specifikou seniorů. Dále se v této části práce zaměřuji na neformální péči a důležitou kapitolou je nepochybně syndrom vyhoření a vše s ním spojené. Výzkumná část diplomové práce byla složena z kvantitativního a kvalitativního výzkumu. Kvantitativní část byla provedena pomocí Burnout Measure dotazníku. Naproti tomu kvalitativní výzkum byl realizován pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s pečujícími. Výsledkem bylo vyhodnocení faktorů, které mají vliv na vznik syndromu vyhoření.

Abstract:

I chose "Burnout Syndrome in Informal Caregivers" as the topic of my master thesis. My focus was on informal caregivers who cared for the elderly. I know people in my environment who became informal caregivers and were thus at risk of developing burnout syndrome. The aim of this thesis was to identify and analyse how much informal carers are at risk of developing burnout syndrome and what aspects informal carers most often consider to be the cause of burnout syndrome. All the respondents were caring for the elderly, so in the theoretical part of this thesis, I first of all deal with the specifics of the elderly. Next, in this part of the thesis I focus on informal caregiving and an important chapter is undoubtedly burnout syndrome and everything related to it. The research part of the thesis was composed of quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative part was conducted using Burnout Measure questionnaire. On the other hand, the qualitative research was conducted using semi-structured interviews with caregivers. As a result, the factors influencing the development of burnout syndrome were evaluated.
