Language of the oldest generation of Eastern (Ostravian) subgroup of Silesian dialects (with a focus on vocabulary)

Abstract:

V předložené magisterské diplomové práci si klademe za cíl pomocí nářečního výzkumu zjistit, do jaké míry je u nejstarší generace východní podskupiny slezských nářečí zachována pasivní znalost a aktivní užívání nářečního lexika. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí, teoretické a praktické. V teoretické části nastiňujeme základní terminologii, česká nářečí obecně a zaměřujeme se na slezské dialekty, speciálně na jejich východní podskupinu. Praktická část je založena na zpracování nářečního výzkumu, k jehož realizaci jsme použili vytvořený dotazník skládající se ze dvou částí, a to z části A zjišťující pasivní znalost, do které jsme zařadili šedesát nářečních výrazů získaných od rodilé mluvčí zkoumané oblasti, a z části B zjišťující aktivní používání nářečních výrazů, pro kterou jsme položky (celkem 61) čerpali zejména z Českého jazykového atlasu. Dotazník byl položen osmi zástupcům nejstarší generace zkoumané oblasti (tj. od sedmdesáti let výše).

Abstract:

The aim of this master‘s diploma thesis is to find out, by means of dialect research, to what extent passive knowledge and active use of dialectal vocabulary are preserved by the oldest generation of Eastern (Ostravian) subgroup of Silesian dialects. The thesis is composed of two parts, a theoretical one and a practical one. In the theoretical part the basic terminology is outlined, Czech dialects in general are dealt with and the main focus is on the Silesian dialects, especially on the eastern subgroup. The practical part is based on the treatment of the dialect research, for whose realization a two-part questionnaire was used. Part A of the questionnaire detects passive knowledge, into which sixty dialectal terms gained from a native speaker of the investigated area were included, and part B detects active use of dialectal terms, for which 61 items in total were used from the Czech language atlas. Eight representatives of the oldest generation of the studied area were asked in the questionnaire. (i.e. from seventy years of age).
