Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o výuce prvků charakteristických pro neformální konverzaci u žáků základní školy. Hlavním cílem práce je vytvořit sérii aktivit, které rozvíjejí komunikační dovednosti žáků. Výuka prvků charakteristických pro neformální konverzaci je ilustrována na příkladech výukových sekvencí. Diplomová práce se skládá ze dvou částí. První část je teoretická. Zaměřuje se na lingvistické informace, které slouží jako základ pro praktickou část. Zabývá se konverzací především z pragmatického a stylistického pohledu. Objasňuje stylisticky významné znaky konverzace. Teoretická část se také zaměřuje na vhodné učební metody, techniky a aktivity, které žákům umožňují efektivní osvojení komunikačních dovedností v angličtině. Praktická část doporučuje praktický postup, který umožňuje žákům základní školy osvojit si komunikační dovednosti v angličtině. Učební proces je uskutečňován prostřednictvím výukových sekvencí, které jsou odstupňovány od jednoduchých ke složitějším. Tyto sekvence jsou zaměřeny na jednotlivé specifické znaky konverzace. Pro každý charakteristický znak jsou vytvořeny tři na sebe navazující sekvence. Tyto sekvence potom slouží jako základ pro ucelenou koncepci výuky konverzace anglického jazyka na základní škole.

Abstract:

This Diploma Thesis deals with teaching features of informal face-to-face conversation to pupils at a primary school. The main objective of the thesis is to devise and design a series of activities that will contribute to the development and improvement of pupils´ communicative competence in English. The teaching process is exemplified on teaching sequences that focus on features of informal face-to-face conversation. The thesis is divided into two main parts. Part One is theoretical. It focuses on linguistic information that provides the theoretical background and a rationale for the development of activities and materials for the practical Part Two. It deals with conversation from linguistic, mainly stylistic and pragmatic, point of view. It tries to answer the question what makes conversation distinct from other varieties and what the main stylistic markers of conversation are. Also, it concentrates on appropriate and suitable teaching methods, techniques and activities that could provide learners with the opportunity to grasp the regularities governing the proper use of features characteristic for conversation and use the language for communicative purposes. Part Two is oriented practically. It suggests a recommendable, effective and useful procedure for teaching features of informal face-to-face conversation pupils at a primary school. It focuses on the development of learners´ abilities to take part in conversation. The teaching process is exemplified on a series of teaching sequences. There are three basic types of teaching sequences - Awareness, Controlled Activities and Free Usage that are graded from simple to complex and that will serve as a basis for self-contained and coherent concept for the development of learners´ communicative competence.
