The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe and flowingly demonstrate the usage of operator panels (HMI) within the area of programmable logic controllers (PLC) and their mutual communication. In the first part the PLC and HMI systems are described on a theoretical base together with the communication protocols, which are used most abundantly in these devices.
