Folk costume

Abstract:

Diplomovou práci pod názvem Kroj tvoří cyklus akrylových maleb pojednávajících o tradičních věcech netradiční formou. Záměrně nearanžované detaily lidového oděvu zachycené na obrazech silně kontrastují s typickou upraveností jednotlivých prvků i celého kroje. Záměrem cyklu je posunout chápání krásy lidového oděvu ještě dál a aktivovat diváka k fantazijní hře a myšlenkové tvorbě vlastního imaginárního kroje. Psaný text doplňuje celý cyklus o zajímavá fakta z historie lidového oděvu. Ačkoliv se obě části diplomové práce vzájemně dotýkají, mohou stát nezávisle na sobě, v čemž spočívá jejich pravá hodnota.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis called Folk Costume is consisted of the series of an acrylic paintings in which traditional things are presented untraditionally. The details of a folk costume depicted in the paintings are intentionally not arranged in a traditional way which sharply contrasts with the typical neatness and elements of the whole folk costume. The thesis aims to push the borders of perception and understanding of the beauty of a folk costume further and to stimulate the imagination of a viewer to create his or her own imaginary of folk costume. The series is supported by the written text which complements the work with interesting facts from the history of a folk costume. Although both parts of the diploma thesis are closely connected to each other, they can stand independently, and this is precisely their real value.
