The contribution of hybrid imaging SPECT/CT in bone scintigraphy

Abstract:

Tématem mé bakalářské práce, je přínos hybridního systému SPECT/CT při scintigrafii skeletu. Jedná se o vyšetření, při kterém se pomocí osteotropního radiofarmaka zobrazuje celý skelet. Hybridní systém napomáhá lepší orientaci a anatomické lokalizaci lézí při vyhodnocení vyšetření. Teoretická část začíná technikou, popisem detektorů, scintilačních kamer, seznámení s druhem scintigrafií a popisem hybridních systémů. Dále se věnuji radiofarmakům a radiační ochraně. Své čtenáře seznamuji se samotným scintigrafickým vyšetřením, průběhem tohoto vyšetření a indikacemi. Neopomenu zmínit ani anatomii a na samý závěr teoretické části popisuji hlavní patologie, kapitolu nazvanou onemocnění skeletu. V praktické části, studii, se věnuji využití přínosu metody v praxi. Nejvíce se zaměřuji na prokázání diagnózy kostních metastáz při onkologickém onemocnění.

Abstract:

The theme of this thesis is the contribution of the hybrid SPECT/CT system in relation to bone scintigraphy. It is an examination procedure during which an entire bone is display edusing osteotropic radiopharmaceuticals. This hybrid system helps with orientation and anatomical localization of lesions while evaluating examinations. The theoretical part of this thesis begins with the technology it self, description of the detectors, scintillation cameras, familiarization with different kinds of scintigraphy and the description of the hybrid systems. I also concentrate on radiopharmaceuticals and radiationprotection. I am introducing the scintigraphic examination it self, the process of this examination and itsindications. I also mention anatomy and at the end of the practical part I describe primary pathology in the charter called bone diseases. In the practical part of this thesis I deal with the utilization and contribution of this method in practice. My primary focus is on proving the diagnosis of bone metastases concerning cancer diseases.
