Rational function approximation

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se věnuji racionálním aproximacím, konkrétně pak Padéově a Čebyševově aproximaci. Cílem této práce je vysvětlit, proč při aproximaci upřednostňujeme racionální funkce před jiným typy funkcí a odvození postupů konstrukcí jednotlivých aproximací. Zaměřím se také na intervaly, ve kterých je nejvhodnější funkce aproximovat, ukážu jejich úpravu a vliv na přesnost výsledků aproximace. Dále teorii využiji při výpočtech příkladů, včetně výpočtů chyb, jenž nám napoví, která z uvedených aproximací je lepší ve smyslu minimalizace maximální chyby.

Abstract:

In this thesis I deal with rational approximation, specifically the Padé's and Čebyšev's approximation. The aim of this thesis is to explain why we prefer rational functions to other types of functions with approximations and derivation of construction methods of single approximations. I will also focus on intervals in which it is most convenient to approximate the functions and I will show their modification and influence on the approximation count. I will also use the theory for calculations of problems, including calculations of errors, which will indicate which of the stated appproximations is better in the intent of mimimalization of the maximum error.
