Teaching aid as a means of using interdisciplinary relations between mathematics and handwork

Abstract:

Diplomová práce si klade za cíl vytvořit soubor učebních pomůcek, které jsou využitelné ve výuce matematiky na prvním stupni základní školy a které si žáci mohou sami vyrobit v pracovních činnostech. V teoretické části jsou popsány didaktické prostředky podle jejich zpracování v odborné literatuře, a také z pohledu každodenní praxe na základní škole. Práce se zabývá manipulativními činnostmi a kognitivním vývojem dítěte jako doklad výhod a vhodnosti využití didaktických prostředků na prvním stupni základní školy. Kapitola o interdisciplinárních vztazích zmiňuje jejich výhody a stručně představuje pohled na interdisciplinární vztahy v minulosti a současnosti. V praktické části je popsán soubor pomůcek – sčítací mašina, počítadlo, korálkoví hadi a stovková tabulka. Byl vytvořen metodický postup výroby v pracovních činnostech a soubor aktivit pro využití učební pomůcky v hodině matematiky. Pomůcky byly vyzkoušeny v první a druhé třídě základní školy a v práci je uvedena reflexe této činnosti.

Abstract:

The aim of his dissertation is creation of a set of learning tools, which will be used in teaching mathematics in primary school levels, and which the pupils can make themselves in the arts and crafts lessons. The theoretical part describes the didactic devices according to their description in specialised litearature, and according to their everyday practical use in primary school as well. The dissertation deals with manipulation activities and child’s cognitive development as evidence of the advantages and usage suitability of such didactic devices in primary school. The chapter on interdisciplinary relations mentions their advantages and briefly introduces views of interdisciplinary relations in the past and in the present day. The practical part describes a set of tools – adding machine, abacus, bead snakes, and number board. A methodical procedure of tool creation for the arts and crafts lessons was established, and a set of activities for the tools‘ usage in mathematics lessons was created. The tools were tested in first and second grade of primary school, and the dissertation reflects upon this activity.
