Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zhodnotit příčiny a důsledky amerického unilateralismu během úřadu prezidenta George W. Bushe. Autorka nejprve odkryje kořeny a příčiny mezinárodního vystupování a chování USA v rámci světové politiky, včetně pohledu na historické paralely. Analyzuje mezinárodně-politické příčiny příklonu k americkému unilateralismu. Za druhé, vymezí hlavní radikální změny Bushova přístupu k zahraniční a bezpečnostní politice po 11. září. Zdůvodní, proč došlo k odvratu od multilaterálních organizací, které byly dosud základem a oporou americké mezinárodní politiky. Za třetí, shrne základní dokumenty, na kterých je vystavěna zahraniční politika USA. Představí hlavní linii argumentů, proč je prosazována politika preempce jako důležitý nástroj USA. Závěrem zhodnotí důsledky unilateralistického přístupu. V práci budou použity autentické záznamy a citace výroků prezidenta a členů jeho kabinetu. Autorka bude vycházet i z odborných publikací a teoretických prací z oblasti Bushovy administrativy. Teoreticko-metodologické zázemí bude čerpat z publikací a ze sekundárních zdrojů vztahujících se k zahraniční americké politice.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is the characterization of causes and impacts of the American unilateralism during the government of president George W. Bush. During his government important events, which still influence today´s world policy, happened. At first, the author will reveals the roots and cause of international acting of USA within the world policy frame, including the illustration of the historical paralels.Secondly, author determine the main changes of Bush´s attitude to foreign and security policy after 09/11. Author will gives reasons for adverting from multilateral organisation, which have been the base and the pillar of american international policy so far.At third, author will resume the vital documents, on which the international USA policy is constituted. We will introduce the main line of cause and why is the preemption taken as the main appliance of USA. In the end we will characterize the impacts od unilateralism attitude.In the thesis the authentic commentary, president and his cabinet member´s quotations will be used. The author will emanate even from subject publications and theoretical office work from Bush´s administration. Author will gather the theoretical-methodological information from publications and secondary sources relating to American international policy.
